Problem: Your furnace will not ignite the gas to produce heat for your home. When a furnace has a bad ignitor what I see most of the time is the following sequence of operation:
1. Thermostat calls for heat.
2. Draft inducer motor starts.
3. Pressure switch attached by a small plastic or rubber tube senses the negative pressure produced by the draft inducer and closes.
4. Draft inducer runs for 30 seconds to a minute before you hear a gas hissing sound. The ignitor did not glow, the flame sensor (a small metal probe about 1/8" in diameter, with a white porcelain base) does not sense the flame, so after 8 to 10 seconds the hissing sounds stops with no ignition of gas to heat your home. Your furnace shuts down and goes into a lock out condition until you turn your power switch back off and on again.
Solution: Sorry, but you need to purchase and install a new ignitor.

York IG102 Round Hot Surface Ignitor
Our first York specific OEM ignitor is the IG102 Round Hot Surface Ignitor. You will find this ignitor on many York furnaces and other manufacturer's furnaces. This ignitor has a terminal block, "E." The next ignitor we sell is a replacement upgrade ignitor for York Furnaces. Many of the York furnaces had frequent ignitor problems. York recommends replacing your ignitor with this much more durable ignitor kit. The kit fits the following York furnaces.

York S1-02532625000 Ignitor
The next ignitor we sell is a replacement ignitor for many of the newer York Furnaces such as the York Diamond 80 and many other York 80% furnaces. I asked my York supplier "What ignitors fit the York brand furnaces?" My supplier said on the older models and many of the 90% York furnaces the above mentioned ignitor upgrade kit. On the newer York furnaces and 80% model furnaces the 02532625000 ignitor listed below is used. The
S1-02532625000 ignitor replaces the spiral ignitor on the following York 80% furnaces: P1UK, P9MP, P2MP, P2DP, PAKU, PBKM, PBKD,
XEU02, XEM02, XED02. Purchase this ignitor for a spare in case of an
emergency for only $32.00. The "S1" in front of the part
number stands for "Source One." They are a top manufacturer of HVAC parts.
This ignitor comes with a terminal block connector letter "E". It comes with
installation hardware and instructions for converting to this ignitor, from

First, we have a York Flame Sensor Part # S1-02527773700.
The "S1" in front of the part number stands for "Source One." They are a top
manufacturer of HVAC parts. My York supplier told me that the 02527773700 flame sensor is the most popular flame sensor that York furnaces use.
The S1-02527773700 flame sensor replaces old York flame sensor part numbers:
S1-02525434700, S1-02525434000 and S1-02527773000. Below we have pictures of the York flame sensor with an opportunity for you to purchase:
Next we have a York Flame Sensor Part # S1-02527731701. My York supplier told me that this flame sensor fits many of the older York Furnaces. The flame sensor has a 40" long yellow wire attached to it. One York furnace Model that I know this flame sensor fits is York model #ZP2UHD20N08001A. Next we have a York Flame Sensor Part # S1-02530788700. This flame sensor has replaced Part # 02530788000. The over-all length of this flame sensor is 5 1/8". The white ceramic is 2 3/4" long. The exposed metal flame sensor end is 1 3/4" long. Below we have pictures of the S1-02530788700 York flame sensor with an opportunity for you to purchase:
York Furnace Control Board Part #S1-33102956000
This control board is a direct replacement for part numbers:S1-03109167000, S1-03101933000, S1-03101267000, S1-03101267001, S1-03100662000, S1-03101250000, S1-03101266000, S1-03101284000, S1-03101973000 and S1-03101972000, 265901 & 265902.
This control board comes with installation instructions, metal mounting bracket (if needed) and a new Diagnostic Fault Code Sticker.

Several of our customers had a problem after installing the new
S1-3310295600 control board with the board giving a 9 blink flash code which
means, "Reversed Polarity or Control Board not grounded." One of our
customers, Garry, found the solution to this problem and sent us an email
telling us how to correct the problem. Thanks Garry! Below I have copied
this email. I hope this email from Garry will help you out if when you
install the new board you get the 9 blink code. Here is the email:
Steve,
Just wanted to follow-up...figured out the problem described in my 14 December
email...the following may help with future customers who buy this board. As you
know, I bought the S1-33102956000 control board for my York P2MP furnace. I
installed it and the furnace would not work. Upon installation, I got the
recurring nine blinking lights error code which means reverse polarity problem
or control board not grounded.
Here's what I found out. Apparently, the polarity of the new, upgraded control
board is reverse (in polarity) in design from the OEM control board. To get the
furnace to work with the new control board simply reverse two wires when
connecting them to the new control board. There are two 24V wires that come
from the transformer to the control board. A light brown wire connects to the
lead labeled "XFMR" (near the black, blue and red wires and leads)... the other
white wire coming from the transformer connects to a neutral lead.
Reverse these two wires...put the white on the XFMR lead and the light brown
wire on the neutral lead....and then the furnace will work.
Hope this helps....I like your web site - it has a lot of useful, helpful
information; and I plan to order some more parts from you in the future...I
think I am going to replace parts before they break...novel idea!
