*Introducing the Aprilaire Model
700M Humidifier!
Only $210.00

Below we have an
information section explaining the features of the 700M Power Humidifier.
About the Aprilaire 700M humidifier:
The Aprilaire 700M offers a manual control. The Model 700M power
fan humidifier (replaces Models 700, 760, and 768) and is designed with ease of
service in mind. This high-tech humidification system can deliver up to 50% more
moisture in comparison to competitive units. Complementing any HVAC system, the
700M has an evaporation capacity of 0.75 gallons per hour, among the highest
capacity humidifiers sold. If you own a larger home and want the best, then this
may be the humidifier for you, as it will handle up to a 4,200 square foot home.
The 700M comes with (please see picture below) 5' of 1/2" drain hose, 20' of 2
conductor thermostat wire, humidistat, stock #35 water panel, self tapping water
valve, transformer installation instructions, owner's manual, and plenum hole
template. You would also need to purchase some 1/4" copper tubing to connect the
water supply to the humidifier. We double-box
all humidifier orders to protect the humidifier during shipping. The box
is over-sized and rated by UPS at 29 lbs. We rate it at 20 lbs to try and save
you on the shipping. Below we have a picture of the items that come with the
700M humidifier. The 700M humidifier comes with humidistat, self-tapping water
valve, transformer, installation template, owner's manuals, instructions, 20' of
18-2 thermostat wire and 5' of 1/2" clear drain tubing.

700M Product
Specifications:
Type:
The Aprilaire 700M is a Power Fan Humidifier.
The Aprilaire 700M uses a power fan to humidify your home. There are two basic
humidifier types: bypass and power fan. Each simply uses a different method to
move air through them. Power fan humidifiers use a 110 volt fan to move air
through them. Bypass humidifiers do not have a fan, but instead require a 6”
duct to be connected to the side and then to the opposite air duct system from
the humidifier. That means for bypass models that if the humidifier is installed
on the supply plenum, the 6” duct will connect to the humidifier and the return
plenum, and if the humidifier is installed on the return plenum, the 6” duct
will attach to humidifier and the supply plenum.
Both humidifier types- bypass and power fan will
provide the same benefits to you. The only difference is the technology used to
do so. The advantage to power fan models is since they do not require additional
ductwork, they can be installed faster and in tighter spaces. The advantage to
the bypass models is that they cost a little less.
Do not install the Aprilaire 700M power humidifier
on a horizontal furnace. The humidifier will not work properly. Below are
some pictures that I took from the 700M's humidifier installation template. The
pictures show Installation options, Specifications, and Wiring diagram.

Below is the wiring diagram for the 700M humidifier.

Humidifier Installation Accessories:
Below are listed some of the accessories and supplies you might need when
installing your humidifier. If your
furnace has a humidifier (HUM) terminal on the control board then you will not
need the A50 current sensing relay.
Please click here if
you have other humidifier installation questions. This will take you to our
frequently asked questions page. You can call Aprilaire Customer Support at:
1-800-334-6011 for technical support and other questions.
One accessory that I use on many of my humidifier
installations is a Current Sensing Relay. This nifty little relay allows me to
quickly set up the humidifier to run only when the furnace blower is running.
This eliminates the need for a sail switch or more complex wiring. The relay
attaches around the white (most of the time) common lead of your furnace blower
motor. When the blower comes on it senses there is current and turns your
humidifier on. It is easy to install and comes with complete wiring directions
and instructions. The A50 current sensing relay acts like a 24 volt switch. The
A50 is not designed for 110 volts. You would need the A51 current sensing relay
if you plan on running 110 volts through the relay.

*A
special note of concern:
If
you are not familiar with electrical wiring, sheet metal, and plumbing
principals, then I would strongly suggest that you leave the humidifier
installation up to a professional. Bodily harm, heating and air conditioning
equipment damage, and damage to your home may result if you do not understand
these principals. I Steve Arnold, want to help you save money, and most certainly do not want to see anyone
get hurt or damage their property.
Humidifier
Installation Supplies List: You will probably need the supplies listed below
to install your humidifier.
 |
|
1/4"
copper water supply tubing at least 10'.
|
 |
|
Plumber's
Teflon tape to wrap around the threads of the water saddle valve before you
screw it into the body of the saddle valve. This will prevent a leak around
where the valve screws into the body.
|
 |
|
18
gauge thermostat wire. Probably about 20'.
This is supplied with the humidifier
by us free. It is better to have too much
than not enough. You will use this to wire between your humidistat, low
voltage transformer and back to the humidifier.
|
 |
|
Electrical-(1)
outlet box with romex connectors.
|
 |
|
#14-3
house wire. You probably will not need over 3'. I use the 14-3, sometimes to
run from the furnace board (when 110 volts are provided on the furnace
board) over to an outlet that is attached to the side of the furnace. You
can also use the wire to run into a junction box that powers the low voltage
transformer when installing the model 500 & 600 humidifiers. You must
drill a hole in the blower compartment of the furnace and use a romex
connector to protect the wire from being cut by the body of the furnace. I
use a metal cutting hole saw to drill the hole in the body of the furnace.
|
 |
|
3/4
PVC fittings & PVC cement: You will probably need at least 4-90's,
2-couplings and 1-tee.
